| 1946 | The Dayton Company commits to giving 5% of its profits back to the communities it serves |
| 1953 | Dayton’s Commercial Interiors (DCI) begins to operate independently from the Dayton Company |
| 1964 | DCI becomes an authorized Steelcase Dealership |
| 2000 | Dayton/Hudson Corporation re-brands as Target Corporation |
| 2000 | DCI expands through acquisition into Madison, Green Bay and Wausau, Wisconsin and Rockford, Illinois |
| 2004 | DCI changes its name to Target Commercial Interiors |
| 2004 | Target Commercial Interiors acquires Re:Source Minnesota to strengthen floor covering offerings |
| 2005 | Opens Target Commercial Interiors retail concept store in Bloomington, MN |
| 2008 | Opens second retail store, on Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis |
| 2008 | Becomes sole Steelcase provider throughout the state of Arizona through acquisition of Walsh Bros. and US Business Interiors |
| 2008 | Opens first Target Commercial Interiors: The Office Store, in Phoenix |
